Ashley, Katie, and Melanie threw me a wonderful baby shower on 28 March. The morning started with a delicious brunch and visiting with all the girls. Afterward, we played three games. The first game was to find as many safety pins in a bowl of rice while blindfolded. This was a lot harder than it sounds...it's very difficult to tell the difference between the two. I wasn't able to find any...but Kim and Mandy tied and had a "pin off" after each finding 6 pins in 30 seconds!:) Next, was a Price is Right sort of game. We had to guess the price, without going over, of 9 baby products. Although the Mom's in the room seemed to have an advantage, Kirsten got the closest to the total price. For the final game, each guest brought a baby picture and we had to correctly identify who each picture was. I was able to name myself; but I missed the extra picture of Kurt thrown in...even though he was the only one on a blue blanket! :)
After dessert of cookies and cupcakes, I opened gifts. Our daughter is definitely going to be one well-dressed baby! She got several cute outfits, 2 pair of shoes, and a knitted baby blanket. She also received a boppy pillow, diaper pail, body wash, body lotion, wooden stroller toy, sheets, towels, diapers, nursing cover, and my first footprint kit.
