Emma had her U5 (6-month equivalent) check up today. The doctor said that she was well developed and told us not to worry that she wasn't really into solid food yet.
In the past 6 months and 2 weeks, Emma gained almost 8 lbs, grew a little over 4 inches, and her head circumference increased by 3.3 inches!
Her current stats are:
Weight: 7590 grams or 16 lbs 11 oz
Height: 68 cm or 26.77 inches
Head circumference: 43 cm or 16.9 inches
According to the growth chart in her German baby book, she is in the 97th percentile for height and weight and 50th percentile for head circumference. According to the CDC growth chart, she is at the 55.5th percentile for weight; 75.3th percentile for length; and 57.6th percentile for head circumference.
Either way, our little girl is getting bigger!

Neither of my boys ever ate much baby food until at least 9 months. I think they didn't care for the texture of it, they like real table food. But they did like teething biscuits, which are super easy to make yourself and not as messy as store-bought ones. The Germans have some great teething cookies though, with all-natural ingredients. I never pushed solids, if they were getting breastmilk. I have read over and over again that solids before 1 year old are only to get the baby accustomed to the taste and texture of real food, not necessarily for the main source of nutrition. that's what breastmilk (or formula) is for. :-) Emma sounds healthy to me!
