Dear Emma,
Today is your Third Birthday! I can't believe you are 3!!! You are getting so big!
You
slept in today after a long but fun weekend of playing hard at Grandma
and Papa's. You were a very happy, well rested girl. You had
apple cinnamon cheerios for breakfast and let me pick out one of your
new outfits (from Grandma) for you to wear. Daddy took you and
your cupcakes to school.
Today was a Tuesday so you had dance class and Miss Nicole gave you a
rose for your birthday. We sent in chocolate cupcakes with pink icing
and sprinkles (which you helped me put on this morning) for you and your
class. Daddy picked you up today as well. You had some good and bad moments tonight
but it was because you were tired. We had pizza for dinner and you asked
for sparkling water. Afterwards you got to eat candy out of a Dora egg
that your teachers gave you today.
You got lots of presents! Our neighbor Barb, gave you a doggy bubble
machine. Gigi gave you a Gecko sprinkler and a fairy doll that you get
to color. Calvin, Adam, & Melanie sent you a stamp set, stickers,
and Hi Ho Cherry. Mommy and Daddy gave you a watch, Dora umbrella (you were very excited for both of these!), princess underwear, hair ties, dice, and a
sticker book that Mommy made for you with princess stickers.
Grammy and Grandpa called, but you didn't really want to
talk to them. We did get you to tell them about your watch and umbrella.
Uncle David called and you really didn't want to talk to him
either...you did tell him you would save him a cupcake though. Grandma
and Papa Campbell skyped with you and you talked to them a little bit.
We started asking you your Birthday questions. We haven't
finished them yet, but I'll post them when we do.
At three years
old: you are very independent and usually want to do everything
yourself. (Unless you are tired, then you get whiny and claim you can't
do anything yourself.)
You love your sister (who is 2 months old) very much and want to hug and kiss her all the time.
You try testing your bounds all the time and seem to enjoy talking back to us, especially Mommy.
You
know your ABC's and can count to 16. We're working on getting to 20,
but you make mistakes sometimes. You recognize numbers and letters and
like pointing them out when we are driving.
You like reading us stories from your fairy tale book, the Grover book,
and your new book from Aunt Rachel where YOU are the princess!
You are compassionate and help your friends at school when they are sad or hurt.
You love going to school and can't wait to go on Mondays.
Today was your first full day in the three-year old room.
You love being silly and getting tickled.
You like calling me, Mommy-boink. You picked this up from daycare a couple weeks ago.
You love having tea parties.
You are generally patient when it comes to Mia, but you have your moments.
I know there is a lot more. But that's what I can think of right now. :)
I love you so much! You make me so happy; even when you frustrate me! I
hope you always know that. I love watching you grow. You are at a very
fun age right now (we've said that at all your developmental stages, you
just keep getting better and better!) and I know this upcoming year
will be a lot of fun! I love watching you learn and figure things out.
You are so inquisitive and it is fun to watch you be excited to learn
new things and apply them.
Love,
Mommy
