This past weekend, we traveled to Kurt's parents. The ~2 hour car trip was Mia's first road trip! She did great and slept the whole way! When we first started out, she fussed a little, but Emma reassured her: "Mia it's all right. We'll be there soon." :) Mia got to meet most of her extended family on Kurt's side. She is young enough that she didn't mind being cuddled and passed around from one person to the next.
As always, Emma had a fantabulous time playing with her Grandma and Papa as well as Aunt Rachel and Uncle Johnny! Within 5 minutes of entering the house, Emma was seated at the kitchen table with the snack she apparently had been dreaming of on the trip up: cheerios with chocolate milk! She loved picking strawberries with Grandma in the garden and took Grandpa to see where the campfires are held. It was a hot weekend and Emma had fun playing in her kiddie pool and
running under her new flower sprinkler! She ran around non-stop all
weekend! If only we could channel her energy! Also, she was excited to sleep in the princess bed that Grandma made up for her!
While we were there, we celebrated her 3rd birthday with many family members including Carrie's parents who drove down for the day. Emma had a great time helping Grandma make her cake but was impatient that the decorating process took some time. She had a great time seeing everyone and running around all afternoon. She received many fun gifts, including a Strawberry Shortcake Bubble Tea set from Uncle Johnny, 2 swimsuits, pajamas, shorts, t-shirts, a dress, books, and gift cards for to pick dates with an adult of her choice, just to name a few!
